Updated 20 February 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how SkillForgeLearning Academy LLC ("SkillForgeLearning Academy", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you visit our website at skillforgelearning.com, submit an enquiry or engage with our training services. We are the data controller for all personal data described in this Policy.

1. Who we are

SkillForgeLearning Academy LLC is an e-learning and professional training company registered in Ukraine, with its principal office at 21 Saksahanskoho St, Kyiv 01033, Ukraine. For any questions about this Policy or your personal data, please contact us at privacy@skillforgelearning.com.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect different categories of personal data depending on how you interact with us:

2.1 Data you provide to us

  • Contact form data: your full name, email address, optional subject line and the message you write to us.
  • Enrolment data: if you enrol in a course, we collect your name, email, phone number, billing address and payment information (processed by a PCI-compliant payment provider — we do not store card details ourselves).
  • Account data: if you create a learner account on our platform, we store your login credentials (password stored as a hashed value), profile information and course progress records.

2.2 Data collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time and duration of visit, device identifiers.
  • Cookie and analytics data: where you have consented, we use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use our website, which pages are most popular, and where users encounter difficulties. See Section 5 for full cookie details.

3. How we use your data

  • To respond to your enquiry or question submitted through the contact form.
  • To process your course enrolment, manage your learner account and deliver training services.
  • To issue completion certificates and maintain records of your educational progress.
  • To send transactional communications (enrolment confirmations, session reminders, certificate notifications).
  • To send marketing communications about upcoming courses and promotions, where you have given explicit consent and subject to your right to unsubscribe at any time.
  • To operate, secure, maintain and improve our website and learning platform.
  • To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations under Ukrainian law.

4. Legal basis for processing

We rely on the following legal bases to process your personal data:

  • Consent: when you submit the contact form, accept cookies, or opt in to marketing communications.
  • Contract performance: to process your enrolment and deliver the training services you have purchased.
  • Legitimate interests: to operate and secure our business, prevent fraud, improve our services and communicate with existing learners about related courses — where these interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: where processing is required to comply with applicable Ukrainian law (e.g. tax record-keeping, consumer protection obligations).

5. Cookies

Our website uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the website and learning platform to function (session management, security tokens). These cannot be declined.
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand which content is useful and how visitors navigate the site. We use these only with your consent, which you can give or withdraw through the cookie banner on your first visit.
  • Preference cookies: remember your cookie choice and language settings.

You can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the site.

6. Sharing your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties. We may share your data with:

  • Service providers who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements: hosting providers, payment processors, email delivery services, analytics platforms and learning management system vendors.
  • Certification partners where completion of a course qualifies you for a third-party certificate and we must submit your name to the issuing body.
  • Legal authorities where required by applicable law, court order or regulatory obligation.

7. Data retention

We retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected:

  • Contact form enquiries: up to 24 months after the enquiry is resolved.
  • Learner account and course records: for the duration of your account plus 5 years to support certificate verification requests.
  • Financial and billing records: 7 years as required by Ukrainian accounting legislation.
  • Analytics data: up to 26 months in anonymised or aggregated form.

8. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. Please see our GDPR & Data Protection page for a full list of rights and instructions on how to exercise them.

9. Data security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against accidental or unlawful loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. These include TLS encryption for data in transit, access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no transmission over the internet is completely secure; we encourage you to use strong passwords and to contact us immediately if you suspect any unauthorised use of your account.

10. International data transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside Ukraine or the EEA. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission, or transfers to countries recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection.

11. Children's privacy

Our services are intended for adults (18 years and older). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The latest version will always be published on this page with the effective date shown at the top. We will notify registered learners of material changes by email.
